Kevin Bishop from the Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment has been elected chair of the European Long-Term Ecosystem Research Interim Council (eLTER IC).
The European Long-Term Ecosystem Research Interim Council (eLTER IC) oversees the effort to organize over 500 different field research sites in some 18 different countries into a European Research Infrastructure.
The ultimate goal of eLTER IC is to bring together researchers of ecosystem ecology and biodiversity, the critical zone, and socio-ecological systems to address grand societal challenges from a systemic whole ecosystem perspective.
