“Ramesh is one of the best supervisors, known for his knowledge, helpfulness, and friendliness”. Ramesh Vetukuri received the Best Supervisor Award 2024 from the Faculty of landscape architecture, horticulture and crop production sciences.

Ramesh got the award on 6 December in Alnarp in a cermony called “For Zealous and Devoted Service of the Realm”. The price was handed out by Alejandro Barrios Latorre and Mahboobeh Yazdani, on behalf of the PhD student council at the Faculty of landscape architecture, horticulture and crop production sciences. The faculty dean Christina Lunner Kolstrup presented the award.

– Over the years, I’ve realized that being a supervisor isn’t just about guiding projects; it’s about nurturing a mindset where challenges are seen as opportunities, failures as stepping stones, and independence as the ultimate goal, said Ramesh.

Committed, enthusiastic and approachable

The motivation says that Dr Ramesh Vetukuri is one of the best supervisors, known for his knowledge, helpfulness, and friendliness. He is committed, enthusiastic, approachable, and always available to support students. Dr. Vetukuri is free from any kind of bias, communicates clearly, sets expectations, and gives constructive feedback.

His exceptional interpersonal skills and fatherly approach create a familial, comfortable environment that fosters teamwork and motivation. Most importantly, he gives students the freedom to explore science and think out of the box. These qualifications make him an excellent choice for Supervisor of the Year, says the motivation.

"True supervision is a partnership"

– To me, the joy of supervision comes from seeing a student’s idea take flight, watching them transform uncertainty into discovery, and knowing that I played a small part in helping them grow into confident, innovative scientists, says Ramesh.

– True supervision is a partnership—an exchange of ideas, inspiration, and learning that enriches everyone involved. Together, we don’t just seek answers; we push the boundaries of what’s possible in science, concludes Ramesh.
