Talk Series: Johan interviewing Mia about her upcoming 50% seminar

One of the new formats for our zoom meeting is the interview. The idea is to move away from the presentation format which particularly over zoom has been experienced as isolating and not so interactive. Instead, the interview format could be both more fun to view and listen to given its more improvised and interactive shape. It also gives the interviewee the opportunity to practice answering questions on the spot and try out the role as interviewed rather than interviewing.

Johan did an excellent job as interviewer. Particularly appreciated was how he situated the questions into for example his own experience. This made the interview very much a reflective conversation that more easily could highlight the similarities in the different challenges that we go through as PhD students. These situated questions also helped Mia build answers that were reflective and versatile. Overall, the interview format gave both meaningful content and experiences, and we look forward to doing similar events soon. And our documentation of the zoom meeting came in the shape of emoji reinforced holiday spirit.
