Representatives from the Nordic and Baltic countries meet in Stockholm to prepare the bid for IUFRO World Congress 2024.

Nordic and Baltic collaboration

The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry (KSLA) organize the meeting, on February 15, to strengthen the collaboration as well as the bid. The aim is to present the strategy for the bid and to draw up the themes and programs for the congress. Each country prepare their contribution by anchoring the program among the national stakeholders. The tradition is strong on regional cooperation in natural resource management and in particular in forestry.

Post excursions

All together the Nordic and Baltic countries have an impressive variation of forests, landscapes, markets, tenures, and cultures to present. Of special interest is the planning and execution of the post congress excursions in the region together with representatives from governments, NGO’s and industry. The geographical position of Stockholm makes it swiftly to travel to the neighboring countries. Each post-congress tour have different themes and will take about four days.
