MVM room A2034, Uppsala
By Prof. Ingrid Kögel-Knabner from Technische Universität München (Munich, Germany)
Prof. Ingrid Kögel-Knabner will give two lectures about organic matter and its persistence in soils. Ingrid holds the chair of Soil Science at the Technische Universität München. She is a word leading authority on the characterization of soil organic matter and the processes that regulate its turnover and interplay with the terrestrial carbon cycle. We are most happy to have Ingrid as a guest lecturer on the PhD-course “Carbon cycling: from molecular to global processes” (http://www.slu.se/en/research-schools/focus-on-soils-and-water/all-events/phd-courses1/2015/9/phd-course-carbon-cycling-from-molecular-to-global-processes/), and have decided to make her lectures open for everyone to enjoy.
The lectures will take place in A-2034 (MVM building) the 2nd of November
13:30 Stabilization of organic matter in mineral soils by its incorporation into the soil structure
15:15 Understanding organic matter sequestration for sustainable management of soils
Coffee break between 14:45 and 15:15
